Staff report
Chesterton swimmers Brenley Bonez, a freshman, and sophomore Adalyn Laughner appear in four different events on the All-DAC swim and dive team released Wednesday.
Athletes make the team by winning an event at the Duneland Athletic Conference championship meet or by placing in the top eight at the state meet.
Bonez won the 50-yard freestyle at the DAC meet and placed fifth at state. She placed fourth at state in the 100 breastroke and fifth in the 50 free.
Laughner won the 100 free and 100 backstroke at the DAC meet and placed eighth in both events at state.
Bonez and Laughner also joined juniors Peyton Ostertag and Tegan Werner on the 400 free relay that won the DAC meet and placed fourth at state, and the 200 medley relay that placed sixth at state.
Chesterton sophomore Luke Hawkins, the DAC champion in diving, was the lone member from the boys team to earn All-DAC honors.
