We had a lot of younger kids step up, give great minutes, and Kenedi's just been a rock too this whole time, really. She's been phenomenal the entire season.

As expected, Chesterton junior guard Kenedi Bradley made the All-DAC girls basketball team for the third year in a row, the conference announced Tuesday.
In leading the Trojans to a 15-9 record and into the championship game of the Chesterton sectional, Bradley averaged 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.3 steals. Bradley worked year-round on improving her 3-point touch and it showed. She shot 36% on 3-point shots and made 54% of her 2-point attempts.
Bradley’s 14.8 scoring average was identical to her sophomore season, but she needed fewer shots to reach it.
It didn’t take long for first-year Chesterton coach Candy Wilson to praise Bradley when breaking down the 33-26 loss to Valparaiso in the sectional final: “We had a lot of younger kids step up, give great minutes, and Kenedi’s just been a rock this whole time, really. She’s been phenomenal the entire season.”
Fellow junior and longtime friend of Bradley, Valparaiso’s Lillian Barnes, was named MVP of the conference for the third consecutive year. Bradley was the only player from Chesterton to earn All-Duneland Athletic Conference honors in girls basketball this season. Bradley’s classmate, Tenley Davis, joined Bradley on the All-DAC team when they were sophomores, but missed the second half of this season after suffering an avulsion fracture of the ankle.
The 11 players named to the All-DAC girls basketball team, listed by school in alphabetical order: Chesterton: Bradley; Crown Point: Ava Richie, Ivy Henderson; Lake Central: Vanessa Wimberly, Ayla Krygier; Merrillville: Kylie Wells, Malika Jenkins; Valparaiso: Barnes, Cadynce Clark, Chyanne Brown.
In the spring, Bradley plays AAU basketball and is a sprinter for the Trojans’ track and field team. Bradley earned the ninth and final qualifying spot in her preliminary heat of the 100 meters at the state meet with a time of 12.42. She had a better start in the final and earned a fifth-place medal as a sophomore. The four sprinters who finished ahead of her all were seniors.
